There was a time when in every family it was hoped and aspired that their children must be a doctor, Engineer or MBA. Intense pressure and burden was laid on children from parents to be the one of them and bring honour, glory, social and financial security to their families and if children were not successful to get these degrees then it was seemed to be disgrace to family. But in recent years we have seen that this stereotype has been broken to some extent.
There are mainly two reason in breaking down this mentality, first are those successful figures who went aside the followed leak and achieved success in other stream which were considered less followed due to low financial security or struggle involved in these lines viz sports, acting, painting, singing, dancing, comedy, photography and others. We can take example of numerous celebrities who heard the voice of their heart and accepted their interest as their profession and are now in the top list of fan following. Second reason is raise in committed suicide by students when undue pressure was felt by children to be a doctor, Engineer or MBA. Parents lost their precious child and it became reason and example for society to open up their narrow mentality and let children fly with the stream they are willing to. Now numerous career options are available in India from which a student can choose from and their family supports so.
Follow your heart and follow your passion in your profession
Media has opened up new doors for many type of professions like ‘career in choreography of dance’ was never an option that any parent would open up for that, but now many platforms has proved that being ‘Dance Teacher’ also can be good enough to make living and get prestigious place in society also. Now after intermediate class, students don’t aim only for being Doctor, Engineer or MBA, but they explore all career options available in colleges and universities. Institutions, available courses and degrees, successful figures, media, colleges & universities, technology and many other things have contributed to break this stereotype.
